PLACES TO VISIT NEAR AVONVALE HOLIDAY LODGES

Ideally located for visiting Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden, Bourton on the Water

and the Cotswolds. Broadway Tower is an ancient beacon site and an excellent viewing point, with

breath taking views. It was once a country retreat of the designer and craftsman William Morris. At

the bottom of the hill is Broadway village with it’s quintessential cotswold buildings and picturesque

high street.

Cheltenham racecourse is within 30 minutes by car. The Cheltenham Festival is the premier steeple

chase meeting of the racing calendar.

Stratford-upon-Avon, with it’s racecourse, the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company), William

Shakespeare’s Birth Place (1564-1616 buried in the parish church), Anne Hathaway’s Cottage,

Mary Arden’s House & Farm are also with in a 30 minute drive. Stratford is a wonderful place to visit

with it’s open topped bus tours, museums, boat trips, eclectic shop and restaurants.

The Valley (formally known as Evesham Country Park) is less than 10 min by car. Located at the​

northern end of Evesham and set within 130 acres, there are a wide range of activities incl. a light

railway, garden centre, retail shops.

Snowshill Manor belongs to the National Trust and is set in the heart of the village where scenes

from Bridged Jones where filmed. Snowshill Lavender Farm is just up the road and open to the

public to stroll the fields whilst taking in the splendid colours and aromas, before a visit to the onsite

shop and tearooms.

The Cotswold Way is a 103 mile long walk that starts from Chipping Campden and ends in the

beautiful Roman Spa city of Bath.

The city of Worcester, with it’s cathedral, racecourse and museums in only half an hour by car and

even quicker by train.

Warwick Castle is one of the finest of a mediaeval castle and the historic home to the Earls of​

Warwick. Warwick racecourse is nearby and the town ancient street are a great place to visit.
